Message from Trish Corsetti,  Principal

Dear Commodore Options Families,
We are coming to the end of our school year together. At times I feel like we've had a couple years packed into one, then I take a deep breath and connect with some students, and I realize we've just had a very full year, with a lot of changes and a lot of good growth. Reflecting on our year, and planning for next year, brings me hope and a refreshed sense of focus. I believe in "less is more"...not that doing less manifests more abundance, but focusing on specific goals with intention, moves us further, together. Sometimes we all take on too much, and when we do, that can be overwhelming and unfulfilling. We do not want life to be a checklist, but a fun adventure. A K-12 building reminds me daily that growth is visible and learning together is a journey...and each student is on their "own" journey with our support.

I was blessed to celebrate my own children graduating from college (BA and MS) this month, and they each have had their own experiences, embracing their own learning styles, and redefining their professional goals. We have a lot to celebrate as parents, teachers, colleagues, and friends. We get the privilege of working with your students everyday, over many years, and that shared responsibility and learning partnership is the most important work that we do. Thank you for working alongside us this year, for your advocacy, your patience, and willingness to problem solve together.

We have two packed weeks ahead of us with special events, celebrations, field days, and graduation. We are so proud of our 2024 high school graduates and we know that their next chapter will be theirs to write and to live fully. These graduates believe in collaboration, teamwork, leading together, and laughing a lot. They love to give me tasks and share the creative reasons why they may be returning "late" from lunch...as a group! They're also respectful, kind, and supportive of one another. We need them to share their strong convictions and compassionate voices with the world. I am seeing and hearing these amazing qualities in so many of our K-12 students...if you haven't hung out with our incredible Kindergarteners lately...you need to, because they will make you smile and fill your heart!

I hope all of you have a wonderful June, full of reasons to be grateful and a summer of adventure to look forward to. Enjoy and rest up...we are grateful for your partnership. We will miss our beloved staff retiring as well, Liz Finin (Odyssey 7/8) and Dana Ashton (Mosaic). They're definitely beginning new adventures and we wish them well!

Commodore is a dynamic, K-12 learning community, supporting three growing programs and encouraging our families to participate in the classrooms and community events.  Thank you for all of your support!

Warmly,
Tricia Corsetti, Principal

Odyssey K-8:
We had a successful month of SBA testing and outdoor education adventures for the K-6 students. Each classroom is busy with end of year events, 5/6 class plays, guest speakers, field trips, the Young Author's Day, and the Move-A-Thon. Thank you to all of our staff, students, and parents for stepping up and volunteering. They will all be ready for summer soon!!!

Mosaic K-8:
We are wrapping up the year together and looking forward to next year! Dana is retiring and she has contributed so much to our growing, parent partnership program over the years! She will be missed and I know we all wish her the best on her next adventure! I also want to welcome Cliff Lemieux to our teaching team for next year. He will be joining us from Sakai and he brings years of creative and engaging teaching energy!

All of our programs are focusing on building for the future with new energy and opportunities to meet the needs of our students and dedicated families. We are in a better place now, as a district, to be hopeful, innovative, and use our creativity to improve our practice and strengthen our schools together. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Still time to check out the high school art show!!! Thanks Siri!!!

2. Attendance Matters!
Attendance Works website has resources for all of us! Please work with your students to arrive on time and be ready to learn. this will be a priority goal for K-12 next year. Attendance definitely impacts academic engagement and participation. Thank you.
