Hello! My name is Amy Ahlers and I have been teaching kindergarten since 2015. I grew up here on Bainbridge Island! I attended the University of Redlands where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies. After a short time in the corporate world I went back to school and got my Masters in Teaching from Carthage College in Wisconsin. From there, I came back to Seattle and finally got my teaching certificate from Seattle Pacific University. During my time at SPU I student taught in the Highline School District. At the end of the program I was hired by Highline School District where I spent three years teaching kindergarten. My hope as a teacher was to return to BISD. That professional goal was achieved in 2018 when I joined this wonderful community.
I met my husband, Carl, during my short time in the corporate world. We have two incredible children. Millie, our daughter, was born in 2020 and Jack, our son, was born in 2022. These two keep us very busy and we love raising our children here on the island with their cousins and my family. When I’m not teaching, I love being on the water, in the garden or going on runs. I’m looking forward to this year and am honored to be your child’s teacher!
