About Me

Hello! I love being a teacher, and wanted to be one ever since I was in third grade. After growing up in the Sacramento, CA, area, I attended Sacramento State University and graduated with a degree in Human Geography. I then served with AmeriCorps as a tutor, mentor, and environmental educator for a year in Port Angeles, WA, where my love of the PWN was solidified. I returned to California to teach outdoor education at a science camp in the redwoods of northern California before earning my teaching credential at UC Davis. I’ve taught first, third, fourth, and fifth grades, as well as K-8 STEM.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, which is made up of my spouse, our two kids, and our two dogs. I also love to go see live music of any genre, go hiking, do yoga, read, be near any body of water, and do a little bit of gardening. Also, I travel whenever I can, domestically and abroad, and I love to soak up other cultures, languages, and food! Yum! I am easily enthralled and excited by the world around me, and live by two mottos: “Adventure is a family value,” and “Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"- Ms. Frizzle.
