About Me
I joined our team of BISD school psychologists in 2013 after spending the first three years of my career serving Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia. Prior to my practice as a school psychologist beginning in 2010, I worked with children from infancy through adolescence as a nanny, preschool teacher, behavior specialist, special education para-educator, tutor/academic interventionist, and applied behavior analysis therapist.
I was born and raised on Bainbridge Island and attended Ordway Elementary School, Commodore Middle School/Woodward Middle School, and Bainbridge High School. After graduating from BHS, I studied Music (Vocal Performance) and French at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I later transferred to the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. It was there that I studied Anthropology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Child Concentration.
After graduating from college, I was married at my Bainbridge Island childhood home before moving to Omaha, Nebraska with my husband to complete graduate studies. While in the Midwest, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology, a Master of Science degree in School Psychology, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology. I also studied Applied Behavior Analysis during those years.
My main roles within the BISD as a school psychologist include consulting with parents, teachers, and community members about students' learning, behavior, and social-emotional needs; determining eligibility for special education services following detailed evaluation; and supporting school-wide initiatives that foster student academic and social/emotional well-being and success.
I have a husband, and three beautiful children. I enjoy singing with the Bainbridge Chorale, playing the piano, hiking, cooking, and experiencing new adventures wherever I can find them.
