Dear Commodore Options Families, We are off to spring break already! March flew by and we were able to celebrate Women's History month with two impressive fundraising events! Our Odyssey 7/8 students organized and delivered an incredible talent show to raise funds for Melanesian Women Today, supporting scholarships for girls to attend school. They raised over $4000! And we all got to enjoy some incredibly talented Odyssey students, alumni, and staff! Then the BHS/EHHS Global Health Club (Odyssey Alum) supporting Partners in Health Engage organized an impressive Partners in Poetry event at BIMA with talented adults and students sharing their passionate poetry for an incredible cause, Maternal Center for Excellence in Sierra Leone. They raised over $15,000 from generous donors! I am so impressed with our students' commitment to making a difference in the lives of women and girls around the world.
Once we return from spring break, the busy calendar of events takes off! We will be preparing for state assessments in May, outdoor education adventures, caring for and planting our garden, end of year celebrations and high school graduation. None of these experiences are possible without the support and enthusiasm of parent volunteers and dedicated staff members. Thank you all for helping to enrich the learning experiences for our K-12 students.
We are still accepting applications for Odyssey 7/8 and EHHS for next year and we will continue to give tours and communicate about available enrollment options. Please visit our website for updated forms and information to share with family and friends. (see attachments below)
Commodore is a dynamic, K-12 learning community, supporting three growing programs and encouraging our families to participate in the classrooms and community events. Thank you for all of your support!
Warmly, Tricia Corsetti, Principal
EHHS: We are completing the pre-registration process for next year and supporting our students with their academic pathways. The EHHS team will be visiting some other small, innovative high schools to explore additional options for next year. We also want to celebrate many of our seniors who have been accepted to the colleges of their choice: WWU, Whitman, Lewis and Clark, Gonzaga, Olympic College, etc...we are so proud of them! Odyssey K-8: We have been busy giving tours to new Odyssey families and managing our waitlist for excited students who want to enroll. At the last parent night, Peggy Koivu shared about the basics and value of Positive Discipline for parents. Our 5th-8th grade team also met to brainstorm enrichment and collaborative learning opportunities for our middle school students moving forward. We are all about learning and growing together, every day and every year! Mosaic K-8: Mosaic is also planning for next year and we have a large number of new applicants and community interest in our Parent Partnership program. The students celebrated owls for a full week in STEM, Art, and had West Sound Wildlife Shelter bring their owls to share with the students. All of our programs are focusing on building for the future with new energy and opportunities to meet the needs of our students and dedicated families. We are in a better place now, as a district, to be hopeful, innovative, and use our creativity to improve our practice and strengthen our schools together. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

2. LUNCH accounts: Please update or add funds to student lunch accounts. If you need financial support, please let me know or complete the online form for Free and Reduced Lunch. Thank you. 3. Attendance Matters! Please work with your students to arrive on time and be ready to learn. If they are sick, feverish, or unwell, please enter the absence through Family Access/Skyward or call in to excuse them and follow up with their classroom teachers. Attendance definitely impacts academic engagement and participation. Thank you. 4. Please support our PTOs: Odyssey, Mosaic and EHHS need your support this year.
