Cheers to June Team Commodore!

It is hard to believe it is already June!! We have had a very busy, engaging, and active year together. I am always impressed with how much a dedicated group of humans can accomplish together! Our students have grown in so many ways, from leaning to read with our Kindergarteners to their high school English world building projects! We get to observe and celebrate whole child growth at Commodore, from the youngest to our graduates! We also get to recognize the years of dedication from our retiring staff members. It is a privilege to work in a K-12 building and lively learning community...everyday is a new adventure and it is never boring!!! (Photo of Odyssey 3/4 students at Naturebridge)

I am proud of the work we have all accomplished this year together, in partnership, because it takes all of us to teach, care for, raise, and lift up our students. The end of the year is a good time to reflect on what worked and areas of growth, to set some positive goals for next year. Summer is our opportunity to rest up, unplug, have new adventures, enjoy the PNW sunshine, and enjoy our long days away from school schedules.

Let's enjoy the longer, warmer days with extra sunshine these next two weeks. We have a lot to celebrate and I look forward to finishing the year strong.

Thank you all for your support and commitment to COS K-12! If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Warmly,
Tricia Corsetti, Principal

Staff Celebration!!!

Congratulations to Denise Corso! After over 37 years in education she has decided to retire. Denise has been an essential National Board Certified special ed teacher in BISD for EHHS. She supports all of our high school students by creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom. She has been an integral member of leadership and the EHHS team, working closely with our student leaders and PTO. Denise has also mentored student teachers, trained our paraeducators, and participated in many district level teams. Denise has done it all with a generous heart, kind but firm teaching style, and a commitment to all of her students over the years. She will be missed for sure, but she is ready for her next chapter! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING DENISE!!!

Commodore Options K-12 Updates

Join the BISD Instructional Technology Advisory Council
BISD is forming a Instructional Technology Advisory Council to help guide thoughtful conversations and recommendations around the intentional use of technology in our classrooms and schools.

This committee will bring together staff, families, and community members to explore how technology can best support teaching, learning, student well-being, and balanced classroom experiences.

If you are interested in helping shape future conversations and decisions around educational technology in BISD, we encourage you to apply and be part of this important work.

Applications are due on Friday, June 5th.

  1. Friendly reminders about student behavior during on campus end of year events and celebrations: All school rules still apply when students/families are on campus for special events. Parents need to supervise students and siblings during evening events for safety, and be mindful of supportive audience behavior. Thank you.
  2. Mosaic K-8 Monthly Newsletter with specific links and updates.
  3. Skyward Updates: It is time to enroll for next year through the BISD ABC process. All returning students need to enroll! Please update parent/guardian contact information too. We need to confirm enrollment numbers in all choice programs.
  4. Parent Volunteer Process with BISD: Please go to the BISD Parent Volunteer link to complete the process.
  5. We have three active and supportive PTOs in our building. Thank you for your support. PLEASE DONATE AT THIS LINK!
Thank you all for supporting our efforts!
